Nowadays one of the most urgent necessities of our society
is the promotion of technological systems that allow continuous progress
while respecting the integrity of natural ecosystems as well as human
environment. The progress to be a real progress must provide our society
with the services it needs while at the same time preserving the natural
resources and minimising energy consumption and waste production. The
development of the Integrated Green Policies will enable technological
and industrial progress to be effective: progress for the earth’s progress.
The conference intends to promote exchange of professional experiences
and networking when striving towards higher environmental quality and
sustainability. The comparison and discussion of ideas will deal with
several interesting themes focusing the interaction of policies, legislation
and action programmes and their executing in research, training and education
as well as practical case studies and industrial and commercial applications
and prospects for the future.
Conference programme
The conference programme consists of keynote addresses
by invited prominent European experts, participants’ papers and interactive
workshops. Social events and professional visits are included.
Networking Possibilities
During the conference days the participants are also offered an excellent
possibility to create partnerships and develop new project ideas and discuss
future challenges of the EEE Network.

Engineers, educators, trainers and researchers, training manager, environmental
managers, environmental consultants, experts and policy makers from industry,
governmental and municipal authorities; all actors who are contributing
to the concepts of sustainability and their implementation!

We wish to present a comprehensive overview of present
state of the art of the green policies, and the future challenges they
set to research, training and education as well as engineering applications
in industry and commerce and peoples’ everyday life.
Call for Papers
Participants who would like to present a paper at the conference are invited
to send an abstract of no more than 500 words by 10 June 2001 by e-mail
to secretariat@eeenetwork.net
or by fax to +32 647 18 10 or by mail to EEE Network, Av. de l’Orée 19,
B-1000 Brussels, Belgium. Authors will be notified of acceptance by 30
June. Final papers must be submitted by 30 September 2001 to be included
in the conference proceedings.

ENTREE 2001 is held in the modern Course and Conference Centre of the
University of Florence, Centro Didattico Morgagni, Università degli Studi
di Firenze (http://www.unifi.it),
Viale G. B. Morgagni 40, Firenze, Italy. Daily transport from the hotels
to the conference site is organised. The city of Florence (http://www.firenze.turismo.toscana.it)
is well connected by national and international regular flights and the
railway network.

Conference Fee
The conference fee for participants presenting
a paper is 400 euro, if paid before 30 September, and is 600 euro for
others. The fee covers the conference programme, one copy of the proceedings
(ISBN), ad- ministrative costs, daily transport from hotel to conference
site, vis- its, meals during the conference hours and the conference dinner.
